The greatest demand in small communities is for STEM teachers — specialists in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, as well as English language instructors.

We welcome both newcomers and experienced teachers alike.

According to the Law on Education, individuals without a teaching degree can be invited to teach in schools.
Teach For Ukraine supports participants in developing strong pedagogical skills, regardless of their previous education or professional background.
You’ll go through a six-stage selection process, which includes a trial teaching experience with students.
A key component of your preparation is the Summer Institute, an intensive training program that includes approximately 200 hours of coursework, including hands-on classroom practice.

After completing the fellowship, you can build a career in education, public service, social innovation, or business.
Throughout the program, participants develop a wide range of hard skills, such as project management and designing learning experiences, alongside essential soft skills like adaptability, self-reflection, and networking.
The program also provides ongoing mentorship, continuous learning opportunities, experience exchange, and access to a powerful professional network that supports your growth long after the fellowship ends.

There are no age restrictions.
However, relocation to a small community for the duration of the program is required, as local impact is essential.

 Partner school administrators assist with the search and usually offer several options in the area.
If none of them are suitable, participants are free to find housing on their own.

Teach For Ukraine NGO partners with schools that operate either in-person or in a blended format.
Due to the unstable situation in the country, your assigned school may temporarily switch to online learning.
However, since our mission focuses on making an impact within local communities, relocation to your assigned community is a mandatory requirement for participation in the program.

Relocating with a partner or family is a personal decision.
Please note that the scholarship is designed to cover housing and living expenses for the participant only.

No prior experience working with children is required.
You will develop these skills during the Summer Institute — a six-week intensive training that includes hands-on practice with students.

The Teach For Ukraine Fellowship is a full-time commitment and cannot be combined with other employment.
To support participants throughout the program, we provide a monthly scholarship in addition to the teacher’s salary, helping cover housing, travel to trainings, and daily living expenses.

We collect information about vacancies in partner schools and match candidates with positions based on subject specialization.

A participant’s monthly income consists of two parts:
An official teacher’s salary, which for a specialist without prior experience averages 10,000–11,000 UAH with a full teaching load of 18 hours per week. The exact amount may vary depending on the number of teaching hours, additional responsibilities, school specifics, and other factors.
A program scholarship — 12,000 UAH in the first year and 15,000 UAH in the second year. This is awarded upon meeting the program’s participation requirements and is intended to cover expenses related to relocation, housing, living costs, and travel to in-person program events.

To be eligible for the program, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Have a bachelor’s degree by September 1 of the upcoming academic year
2. Be a citizen of Ukraine
3. (For men) Have valid military registration documents
4. Be willing to relocate to a small community for at least one year (with the possibility of extension)
5. Demonstrate proficiency in one of the core school subjects taught in grades 5–11
6. Show the ability to inspire and actively engage students in the learning process

Yes, you can participate in the selection process remotely, as most stages are held online. However, attendance at the Summer Institute is mandatory.
The Summer Institute is a 6-week training and selection stage in July–August, during which candidates undergo pedagogical training and gain practical teaching experience with students to prepare for their school placement.
Participation in the program requires relocation to a small community, as we value the direct, on-the-ground impact of our participants.
