Position Summary
Teach For Ukraine (TFU) is seeking a visionary and highly strategic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through a pivotal phase of consolidation, resilience, impact, and systemic change in Ukrainian education. The CEO will be responsible for defining and executing TFU’s long-term strategy, actively mobilizing resources in a constrained funding environment, and ensuring operational excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact organization of over 60 team members delivering multiple educational programs at the intersection of education, policy, and social transformation in a country facing unprecedented challenges. The CEO must be an inspiring leader and a skilled manager, capable of navigating complex environments, building a movement of leaders, and catalyzing systemic change in education on multiple levels.

This position requires regular presence in Ukraine, as well as fluency in English and Ukrainian. The role follows a hybrid work format. It involves periodic domestic and international travel for partner meetings, coordination forums, and training.

Teach For Ukraine (TFU) is a Ukrainian non-profit organization working in education to strengthen human capital for Ukraine’s recovery and long-term development. Since its inception in 2017, TFU has addressed educational inequity by developing the next generation of leaders through education and supporting schools, teachers, and students in underserved communities. Key Responsibilities:

1. Vision, Strategy, and Leadership
* Develop, communicate, and implement TFU’s long-term strategic vision to expand educational access, improve learning outcomes, and strengthen systemic impact.
* Develop and strategically align a diverse, high-performing team, fostering professional growth and a culture of shared mission through periods of organizational change.
* Shape the organization’s expert position on education policy, learning recovery, and leadership development in Ukraine, strengthening its influence at the national and international levels.
2. Fundraising, Partnership, and Advocacy
* Lead TFU’s resource mobilization strategy in close partnership with the Head of Development, securing major funding from foundations, corporations, governments, and individual donors.
* Cultivate, expand, and maintain strategic relationships with domestic and international partners, including policymakers, donors, NGOs, and education networks.
* Actively engage with the Advisory Board in fundraising, governance, and strategic decision-making.
3. Program and Operational Excellence
* Ensure effective design, implementation, and monitoring of all programs, working closely with the Program Director to maintain high standards of quality and impact.
* Lead programmatic and organizational development together with the Program Director and Operational Director, optimizing internal processes, talent, and technology to increase impact.
* Supervise financial management, compliance, risk, and operational systems, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience:

Strong commitment to educational equity and social impact, and to strengthening education at both the school and national level — through wartime, recovery, and long-term development.

Proven senior leadership experience, ideally as executive director or senior management leader of a growing impact-focused organization.

Track record of building partnerships, securing major funding, and navigating high-level stakeholder relationships.

Demonstrated success in strategic planning and organizational development in complex environments.

Exceptional communication, advocacy skills, with fluency in English and Ukrainian.

Advanced, proven knowledge in education, public policy, public administration, international development, or a related field would be an advantage.
