6 training sessions for teachers

As part of the project, NGO Teach For Ukraine conducted six trainings for teachers of Ukrainian language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, history, and English language. Each training included basic tools for conducting classes to catch up with learning losses and introduce tutoring tools. Other topics included preventing professional burnout, psycho-emotional support for students, and working with children with special educational needs.

As a result of the training program, DLC teachers and facilitators used Catch-up tools in classrooms and DLC Centers for 12 weeks.

“This project is our response to the challenge posed by the full-scale war on Ukrainian Education. Thanks to this initiative, more than 300 teachers acquired the necessary skills to help hundreds of children catch up in schools in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. It is proven that learning with a tutoring component is less stressful and returns children’s motivation for education,” Inna Stepanets, project manager.

Manuals for teachers and facilitators: new opportunities for knowledge acquisition

As part of the project “tutoring Catch-up in secondary school”, NGO Teach For Ukraine experts developed unique materials for teachers and facilitators. They are designed to help teachers catch up on their knowledge.

These are collections of materials and recommendations in six subjects and a guide for DLC facilitators. The manual can be used as a separate course or integrated into subject-based learning, depending on the needs of the educational institution or child. Each manual has passed expert evaluation, peer review by representatives of the Ukrainian Center for Assessing the Quality of Education, and coordination with leading specialists of the relevant subject.
