About the project

In addition to the usual concept of subject classes to make up for learning losses, we are adding a new approach for children’s psycho-emotional relief — tutor hours — three-week educational and cognitive intensive courses in the summer. In general, the program to overcome learning losses is designed to help students in grades 5-11 who suffered losses due to the war to return to school and improve their knowledge.

Stages:

Based on the results of training on tutoring competencies, teachers at 4 schools will conduct 24 classes in each educational institution within 3 months in the fall and organize a camp for developing soft skills during the summer holidays.

According to project manager Yulia Bilyk, such projects are not only about training, but also about building a community. This is extremely important for us as an organization. We believe that the power of teaching grows where there is mutual support, space for conversations, support, and jointly searching for solutions. One of the goals of the first training for participants is to share knowledge about emotional intelligence, emotional education, and the philosophy of nonviolent communication. This is the basis for trusting relationships that teachers will be able to create in their classrooms even after the project is completed.
