We see children’s learning losses becoming real challenges for communities and schools. After all, it’s not just about knowing math or writing skills. But also about the loss of trust, motivation, and the feeling that tomorrow will come. Gaps in knowledge also affect personality formation, upbringing, and development of critical thinking and self-confidence.
 
Through their daily work, teachers in Ukraine help children learn and restore faith in education. The NGO Teach For Ukraine team wants to support teachers in their work.

We train school teams in tutoring tools to overcome learning losses and conduct individual training at the request of teachers.

We provide materials for lessons and conduct ongoing supervision meetings for teachers with tutoring experts to help them overcome challenges and master new effective teaching methods.

How can my school become a partner school?

The school administration can apply and become a program partner for catching up with students’ knowledge if the educational institution:

Is located in the frontline regions of Ukraine and works in full-time, remote, or mixed formats.

Staff and administration are motivated to participate in joint training on effective approaches to catching up with students’ knowledge and skills and strive to create a safe educational space in the school with a friendly attitude towards children and openness to progressive change.

Is ready to implement a strategy to overcome learning losses, which will include assessing children’s real knowledge and introducing comprehensive programs to restore knowledge, activities for developing soft skills, and socio-emotional support for children.

Is open to reporting on the results of using the catch-up strategies, interested in sharing experience with other schools, and coordinating efforts with local communities and education departments.
