New horizons for Ukrainian education — in September 2024, Teach for Ukraine NGO and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ukraine began a partnership within the framework of the Educational Soup program — Tutor Catch-up Centers: Effective Learning in Emergency Situations. This program to overcome learning losses aims to help children affected by the war return to education and improve their academic skills.

In August 2024, Teach for Ukraine NGO partnered with Saga Education — a leading provider of math tutoring services in the United States — to run a four-week program called Do Math in Ukraine!. This program offered free online group tutoring sessions in English, aligned with the Ukrainian school curriculum, for students in grades 9–11. Classes were held twice a week, each lasting 90 minutes.

Since September 2024, Teach for Ukraine NGO, with support from the international humanitarian organization Save the Children and funding from the European Union, has been implementing the project “Ukrainian Consortium for Education Challenges Response: Safe Return to Learning” to help schools in de-occupied and frontline territories resume education amid war conditions. Together with partners, the organization assists schools in developing tailored strategies and provides necessary resources and support.

When Teach for Ukraine NGO launched the “Educational SUPport program in April 2022, our main goal was to help children overcome learning losses. Today, looking back, we proudly say: thanks to our joint efforts, the project has passed the milestone of 100,000 lessons delivered!

Educational SUPport program by Teach for Ukraine NGO won the Osvitoria.Media Award 2024 in the category “Education for Well-being.” In this category, the jury and media readers recognized initiatives that ensure equal access to education and make a significant contribution to education and psychological support for internally displaced children, refugees, children of military personnel and volunteers, children from de-occupied territories, as well as children with disabilities.

On June 17, 2024, Teach for Ukraine NGO hosted the very first Educational SUPport Tutors’ Congress in Kyiv — marking the culmination of a two-year effort to address learning losses, carried out in partnership with the World Bank and supported by UBS Optimus Foundation. While the final evaluation is still underway, we’re excited to share highlights from the project and insights from the event.

The public organization Teach For Ukraine and the international company DHL International Ukraine are launching a joint initiative — the GoTeach project — aimed at supporting young people in Ukraine. This initiative focuses on helping schoolchildren identify their future career paths and develop the skills necessary for successful professional growth.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Teach For Ukraine have created a new educational series on the Diia.Education platform about how to become a mentor for schoolchildren. The goal is to develop mentoring skills to better understand students and master tools that will inspire children to love learning.

Teach For Ukraine NGO and Future Perfect are looking for motivated young people ready to teach English in small territorial communities across Ukraine as part of the Leadership and Teaching Program.

Eighteen million US dollars have been unlocked to support education in Ukraine through collaboration with the global fund Education Cannot Wait (ECW). The Executive Director of ECW, Yasmin Sherif, and Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, announced a multi-year support program. Between 2024 and 2026, Teach For Ukraine NGO will be part of a consortium tasked with implementing projects, monitoring, and coordinating the program.
