PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSINESSES

Teach For Ukraine is a Ukrainian non-profit organization that has been working since 2016 so that every child in Ukraine — regardless of where they are born or live — has access to quality education, the opportunity to reach their full potential, and the chance to build a future with dignity. We are developing human capital and cultivating the next generation of leaders for Ukraine’s recovery and sustainable development.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Ukraine’s future is being shaped today — in the classroom, where the country’s human capital is built.

However, many children are learning in environments where quality education remains out of reach or fails to prepare them for today’s challenges and the future world of work.

In Ukraine, access to quality education still depends on where a child is born and where they live. Today, around 3.5 million students attend schools across the country. More than 1.2 million of them—approximately 35%—live in small towns and rural communities. On average, these students are 4.5 years behind their peers in large cities in learning outcomes (PISA 2022)

FOR CHILDREN

this means an unequal starting point and limited life opportunities: lower chances of accessing quality education, realizing their potential, securing decent employment, and building a stable future.

FOR BUSINESS

this means a shortage of professionals with the required knowledge and skills, higher costs for recruiting and training staff, and constraints on further growth and development.

FOR UKRAINE

this results in a weakened human capital base essential for the country’s recovery and long-term sustainable development.

WHAT WE DO

Together with our partners, Teach For Ukraine implements the Teach For Ukraine Fellowship Program — a scholarship-based program that builds leadership and human capital through teaching in underserved communities.

01
Attract and recruit talented young professionals and graduates from diverse fields and leading universities
02
Train and prepare them to become teachers and changemakers in underserved communities

03
Place them in schools with limited access to education opportunities and provide a scholarship during their teaching period
04
Support and guide them in their service and leadership development, as well as in implementing extracurricular, applied, and career guidance projects

Over the course of one to two years, Teach For Ukraine Fellows develop their leadership by serving as teachers in schools and working to improve educational opportunities for children in small communities.

They do more than deliver lessons—they help students catch up on learning, provide socio-emotional support, serve as role models for children, and act as changemakers in their communities. They help students to:

01
improve academic performance and learning outcomes, increase their chances of entering university
02

develop practical skills relevant to the modern labor market
03

explore different professions and industries, plan their career pathways
04

develop their potential and leadership, take responsibility, and shape their own future

After completing the fellowship, Teach For Ukraine alumni become part of a growing community of next-generation leaders and continue to drive change across education, as well as in the public, civil society, and corporate sectors.

LEARN ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH SOFTSERVE
SUPPORTING TEACHERS AND ADVANCING SCHOOL DIGITALIZATION: A JOINT INITIATIVE BY SOFTSERVE AND TEACH FOR UKRAINE

Through its partnership with Teach For Ukraine, SoftServe helped reduce educational inequality and expand opportunities for children in small towns and rural communities.

The company provided fellowship scholarships for early-career mathematics and computer science teachers serving in the Pokrovske and Yurivka communities in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region.

Beyond financial support, SoftServe invested in improving schools’ digital infrastructure and helped both students and educators develop the digital skills needed to thrive in today’s world.

SoftServe employees also volunteered as mentors, supporting students in learning English, exploring STEM subjects, and making informed decisions about their future education and careers.
