Teach For Ukraine is expanding its range of learning materials designed to address educational losses and is introducing two new free guidebooks — in Geography and Computer Science. These publications complement the existing series covering seven school subjects and provide educators with practical, well-structured, and effective tools for working with students.

The new guidebooks are primarily intended for teachers and facilitators at DLCs (Digital Learning Centers) to reduce lesson preparation time and enhance instructional impact. For students, these materials help restore interest and enjoyment in learning, while enabling them to track their progress and build confidence in their knowledge.

The guidebooks were developed by practicing teachers who systematically work on overcoming educational losses, alongside education experts experienced in adapting complex academic content to students’ needs. This collaborative approach ensured a balance of practicality, methodological clarity, and accessible presentation.

GEOGRAPHY FOR GRADES 5–11

Geography helps us better understand ourselves and the world around us: to explore nature, resources, people, and places that shape our perception of the planet. It is a discipline that teaches us to think globally while acting locally. By studying geography, students discover the richness of the world and of Ukraine — its landscapes, natural resources, potential, and place within the global community.

This guidebook was created to help students restore and systematize their knowledge of geography while sparking their curiosity about the world. The materials can be used for individual or group sessions, in school settings, or as part of tutoring support.

The Geography guidebook was developed with the support of Save the Children and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

інформатика для 5—11 класів

Computer Science is a foundation of the modern world. It develops logical thinking, problem-solving skills, information analysis, and responsible use of technology.

Missing computer science lessons means more than a lack of practical computer skills. It also means losing the opportunity to understand how technology transforms our lives — and how to engage with it safely and effectively.

This guidebook was created to help students catch up on and deepen their knowledge of computer science, while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and safe digital practices. It can be used during tutoring sessions, in school classrooms, or for independent study.

The guidebook was developed in partnership with the charitable organization Ukraine Children’s Action Project (UCAP).

EACH GUIDEBOOK INCLUDES:
  1. a diagnostic entry assessment to determine students’ starting level of knowledge;
  2. a theoretical section covering key topics;
  3. a practical section with exercises and assignments;
  4. sample learning pathways for individual and group work;
  5. a final assessment to monitor progress.

All materials have undergone expert evaluation and peer review by representatives of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment and were aligned with leading subject-matter experts.

The guidebooks are free of charge and available to anyone interested. They can be downloaded from the organization’s website via the link. The Teach For Ukraine team encourages educators to actively use these materials in their work and to share the link with colleagues.
