In the new series “Tutoring at School” by Diia.Education and Teach for Ukraine NGO, discover effective tutoring practices and learn how to support students throughout their educational journey.
Today’s schools are constantly balancing in a stream of challenges. 3.7 million Ukrainian students are experiencing stress and tension. Some have lived through occupation, difficult displacement, or have parents and close relatives serving in the military. That’s why they need new approaches and tailored support in learning.
Tutoring is a modern educational approach that helps to:
- identify learning losses and the individual needs of each child;
- support students in difficult life circumstances;
- foster the skill of “learning how to learn”;
- develop autonomy and motivation;
- unlock each student’s unique potential.
The course includes:
- step-by-step instructions on how to use tutoring tools;
- real-life school situations that illustrate the impact of the tutoring approach;
- insights from practitioners implementing tutoring in Ukrainian schools.
“Teach for Ukraine NGO strives to ensure that every teacher in Ukraine experiences what it’s like to truly connect with their students during lessons — to impact their academic success, to motivate those falling behind, and to inspire high-achievers to explore even further. We found the key together with the International Tutoring Academy — tutoring approaches that, since April 2022, we’ve taught to over 1,500 educators and applied in lessons for nearly 30,000 students. We now clearly see the effectiveness of tutoring in supporting children during education in emergencies,”
shares Anastasiia Donska, Head of Learning Loss Recovery at Teach for Ukraine NGO.
