Teach For Ukraine proudly announces its new Advisory Board, which officially commenced its term on September 1st, 2025. This powerhouse of leaders brings together expertise, vision, and global networks that will help chart the organization’s next chapter. With their guidance, Teach For Ukraine will strengthen strategy, build global partnerships, expand fundraising, and raise its profile — delivering greater educational impact to children and communities across Ukraine.

Alexa Chopivsky – Executive Director, Women’s Foreign Policy Group

A dynamic leader in global advocacy and economic development, Alexa founded Ukraine House Davos to elevate Ukraine’s presence on the world stage. She has advised the Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine, and previously worked as a journalist covering world events for NBC News. Awarded the Order of Princess Olga in 2021, Alexa brings unparalleled expertise in building strategic networks and elevating national impact. 

Board role: Developing strategic relationships.

Anton Waschuk – Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund
Anton drives initiatives in tech, investment, and entrepreneurship, supporting Ukraine’s industrial and SME ecosystem. Serving on the boards of Endeavor Ukraine and Junior Achievement Ukraine, Anton brings deep expertise in strategy implementation, innovation, and scaling impact. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics. 

Board role: Fundraising and strategy implementation.

Shelby Magid – Deputy Director, Atlantic Council Eurasia Center

Shelby oversees the Atlantic Council’s programming and policy work on Ukraine. In this role, she leads efforts to strengthen U.S.-Ukraine relations, engage Congress, and elevate policy issues through events, research, and advocacy. Formerly at the German Marshall Fund and the International Federation for Human Rights, Shelby has spent her career championing democracy and justice. She holds a bachelor’s from Brandeis University, with studies at Leiden University and the Grotius Centre, and a master’s in international relations from Central European University. Shelby’s career reflects her deep commitment to supporting Ukraine’s democratic, peaceful, and prosperous future.

Board role: Strategic relationships and new directions for growth.

Zoryana Golovata – Founder, Women’s Voice in Action & UN Representative, WFUWO

Zoryana is an internationally recognized leader in education, innovation, and child mental health. She created the Creation Triangle® model for resilience and leadership and co-founded PerkyPlay, a behavioral-science-based children’s app. Her awards include Top 100 Global Women Entrepreneurs, the Socrates International Award, and the GR Solution Award.  Zoryana holds a Master’s in Public Administration and Development from the University of Antwerp.

Board role: CEO strategic advising and fundraising.

Alyona Nevmerzhytska – CEO, hromadske.ua

Alyona leads Ukraine’s premier independent media outlet, shaping public awareness and resilience against disinformation.At hromadske, she strengthened audience engagement and implemented a data-driven decision-making approach. Alyona is a graduate of the Stanford University Summer Program and the Stockholm School of Economics. She is the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Fellow and the McCain Institute’s Global Leader.

Board role: Strategic guidance on brand awareness and visibility.

Together, this Advisory Board will guide Teach For Ukraine’s strategic vision, strengthen its global profile, and accelerate its mission to deliver high-quality education to children across Ukraine. With their combined expertise and networks, Teach For Ukraine is poised to shape the future of education, empower communities, and drive systemic change.
