The Educational Sup program is among the nominees

The Educational SUP program is among the nominees for the Osvitoria.Media Award 2024, which is being awarded for the first time by Osvitoria.Media. The award covers five categories: EdTech Breakthrough, Education for Well-being, Identity+, Build Back Better, and Special Recognition for Educational Resilience. Educational Soup was nominated in the category Education for Well-being.

“Over more than two years of the large-scale war, we realized that quality education in an independent and free Ukraine is an undeniable value that unites society. That’s why we launched this award — to highlight initiatives that strengthen not only the sustainability but also the development of Ukrainian education,” says Kateryna Kyselova, editor-in-chief of Osvitoria.Media.

The award’s goal is to bring projects that make a significant contribution to education during the full-scale war to public attention. Candidates in each category were internally nominated by the Osvitoria team. The jury will select winners based on impact on the audience, comprehensiveness of the solution, resilience, and sustainability of each project.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, educational losses have become a new challenge for Teach For Ukraine NGO. Thus, in April 2022, Educational SUP was launched — the largest project compensating educational losses in Ukraine, using tutoring and mentoring approaches to teach students in grades 5–11.

During the first wave in April 2022, 100 children enrolled in Educational SUP. Over two years, the participant community grew 100 times — now there are more than 10,000. More than 600 tutors of Educational SUP conduct nearly daily online sessions, inspiring children and teaching them how to learn.

“But our greatest achievement is not the numbers, but the stories behind them,” says Anastasiya Donska, head of the educational losses recovery direction at Teach For Ukraine NGO. “Stories about children who opened up and found new friends through the project. Stories about tutor-teachers inspired by the project to return to Ukraine and stay here despite everything. Stories about how we inspire changes in education.”

We are grateful for the trust in our organization!
