«People spend years searching for themselves. I was lucky to find myself already—thanks to the Teach For Ukraine Fellowship,» says Dmytro Demyanenko, a fellow of the program and a computer science teacher in Odesa region.

Dmytro has been teaching for the second year at Oleksandrivka General Secondary Education Institution. Here, he not only conducts lessons but also builds his educational career and plans his next professional steps.

Anna, on the other hand, began her journey at the Danylivska Gymnasium in Kyiv region in September 2025. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, she was forced to leave Sloviansk, Donetsk region, for Germany, but every day she longed to return to Ukraine. Participation the Teach For Ukraine Fellowship by the NGO Teach For Ukraine and the opportunity to teach became the goal that helped her make the final decision and buy a ticket home.

In the feature for the We – Ukraine channel, you will hear about:
— Dmytro’s and Anna’s path to the program and their new profession;
— their interaction with students;
— the importance of involving youth in teaching, in comments by Danylivska Gymnasium principal Aliona Monko;
— an example of partnership between experienced educators and program participants, shared by Olha Savchenko — English teacher at Danylivska Gymnasium and Anna’s mentor.

«Anna Ihorivna is constantly looking for new formats: tests, interactive activities, her own tricks. It feels like you’re not just learning the language, but developing it through play – shares with us Matvii, a 9th-grade student..
